Christmas

 Christmas on Hornbeam

For Christmas we spent an evening decorating Hornbeam House with lots of decorations and a tree. Some boys made paper chains which were nearly as long as the Hornbeam corridors!

We had a lovely Christmas meal when we went to the international restaurant called JRC in Ilford. The boys really enjoyed trying new cuisines and having the independence to go and choose their foods.

Autumn Half Term

Autumn Half Term

Hornbeam boys have enjoyed going to the gym on a Monday evening and playing Family and Team Dodgeball, Fox and farmers, Duck Duck Goose and many others.

Guitar Hero is another popular house activity for the Hornbeam Boys especially Mylo, Alfie, Callum and Owen R-C. They start on the easy levels and have been making steady progress over the weeks to more difficult songs. They have many songs to choose from but the band Queen appears to be a favourite amongst the Hornbeam Boys!

Activity nights

Thursday Activities

Lee set up the cinema room for the boys to have a disco. All boys chose a song to play and they had a great time. Matthew really is a showman! The boys interacted very well and enjoyed the refreshments at half time.

The Hornbeam Boys have also enjoyed visiting Fairlop Waters, a local nature park, to play in the park areas there and climb the boulders.

Achievements and Celebrations

Achievements and celebrations

We had just a few celebrations this past half term with 4 boys celebrating their birthdays!

Logan, Charlie, Brandon and Alfie all had birthdays and we had cakes and lemonade to celebrate. The boys received their presents and cards from the house and had a great time playing with them.

Matthew managed his 50 meters at Loughton Pool which is a fantastic achievement for him!
