Swimming Report
Swimming is an important skill and can encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. In accordance with the National Curriculum, schools must provide swimming instruction by the end of Key Stage 2.
The programme of study for PE sets out the expectation that pupils should be taught to:

swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
-
use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]

perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
